Elections of the Interim Executive Council
The Diplomatic League had two successful meetings to clarify and finalize the roles of the members in the Executive Council. The first was held on the 19th of September 2015 in Café Noriter and the second was on the 10th of October 2015 in Greenbelt.
The first meeting was held last September 19, 2015 in Café Noriter near De La Salle University which serves as proof that the organization not only held its meeting in a formal and conventional manner but, also in a more relaxed way wherein everyone can have an intimately chummy relations.
Formal election to clarify the positions and functions of the organization. Mr. Christian Mark Cardenas was officially elected in a consensus as Chairman of the Interim Executive Council, who was acting as the point person of the DFA to the League and presiding officer to the meetings. Ms. Bahama Mirachylle Josue was also officially elected as Vice Chair of the Interim Executive Council, has greatly contributed to the Diplomatic League Charter and other events. Both of them were elected in a solidarity fashion and shall function accordingly until the Charter is signed.
The organization would also like to welcome the College of Holy Spirit as its newest member who can now enjoy the privileges and benefits of the League. Diplomatic League also discussed the case of the University of Manila in hopes of its membership to soon be finalized.
The second meeting was on October 10, 2015 in Wendy’s, Greenbelt 1. The meeting was presided by Sir Asec. Jesus “Garry” Domingo together with the students of the following Universities like Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, Philippine Women’s University, De La Salle University Manila, Lyceum University of the Philippines, Miriam College, Far Eastern University and students of the University of Santo Tomas as its meeting members.
The meeting was in regards to the election of the members of the Interim Executive Council and matters regarding the upcoming UN 70th Anniversary celebration, and upcoming projects of the year.
In regards with the election of the Interim Executive Council, the elections have been finalized. As decided in the last meeting, Mr. Christian of LPU is to sit as the highest officer of the Diplomatic League and thus President of the Council whereas Ms. Bahama of UST is to be the Vice President. The Executive Secretary is of Ateneo and PWU as the VP for Communications. DLSU for External Relations and MC as the Internals. The VP for Operations is from CSB, VP for Finance is from FEU and VP for Audit is of UE. These are the Interim Executive Council Officials which were elected accordingly by those present in the event.
